OK we spent how much for a fly over at the Super Bowl (its a dang Domed Stadium)

I must be getting slow in my old age 'cause I just caught this jewel. Our fine government, with many F-18's actually in Texas, sent jets from Virginia Beach, VA to fly over the Super Bowl this February at a cool cost of HALF A MILLION DOLLARS..... & remember folks it is a domed stadium so purely for the video cameras I suppose....2 arguments here fair enough but there is no arguing that I have found as to why in gods green earth we could have at minimum save that absurd amount of fuel coming an extra 1250 miles per jet.....
